Two-thirds of Hub residents are against a state arbitrator’s award to Boston firefighters - and more than half of those naysayers believe the controversial raises should be slashed by 5 percent as a compromise, according to a poll obtained by the Herald.
The Sage Systems phone survey of 3,000 Boston voters asked: “Do you support the arbitrator’s award increasing the firefighters’ compensation by 19 percent over four years?”
Sixty-six percent answered “no” while 34 percent said “yes.
