Sage Systems Captures 2007 Pollie Award!
Sage Systems was awarded the 2007 Pollie Award for the “You May Be a Victim of Fraud” mail piece, designed for MassEquality. Sage received the top prize, the Gold Award, in the Initiative/Referendum/Constitutional Amendment: Statewide category, beating out competition from some of the most accomplished political consulting firms in the country.
The “You May Be a Victim of Fraud” mail piece was designed and mailed in January 2006. A petition against equal marriage rights in Massachusetts had come under fire when widespread allegations of signature fraud began to surface. MassEquality called on Sage Systems to create an informative mail piece that alerted the signers of this petition of the possibility of signature fraud. The mail piece directed recipients to a website that let them know how to take action against this petition fraud. “You May Be a Victim of Fraud” was featured in a January 26, 2006 Boston Herald article about MassEquality’s efforts to fight this deception.
“We are proud and excited to receive this award,” said Sage President Frank Perullo. “Sage worked closely with MassEquality to craft a piece that would stand out and be a call to action. This piece made a real impact, and it is rewarding to see our efforts recognized.”
The American Association of Political Consultants has hosted the Pollie Awards every year for the last 16 years. Over 2,350 entries, and all-time high, were submitted for the 2007 Awards.
“The Pollie Awards are recognized across our industry as the premier showcase in Political Communication. We are proud of this mail piece, and we are excited that our work with MassEquality has been noticed on the national stage,” said Perullo.
